You will play an active role in accelerating the manufacturing of satellites to quickly build the Amazon Satellite Constellation. You will tackle challenging, novel situations and will have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams spanning a variety of domains: software, hardware, networks, RF, embedded, real-time, distributed, as well as industrial automation systems.You will design and develop manufacturing software to drive the assembly, calibration, testing, and provisioning of satellites. You will collaborate with teams from manufacturing engineering, product engineering, and security engineering to identify requirements and design manufacturing software. - Build the manufacturing software systems used by production operations to manufacture the Kuiper satellite fleet, supporting ground systems and associated ASICs
- Build the end-to-end system capabilities required for the orchestration of manufacturing across factory production lines
- Architect and design a secure manufacturing software system that protects Kuiper intellectual property and manufacturing assets via a secure chain of custody/trust
- Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to marketA day in the life
In this role as a Software Development Engineer, you will be actively engaged in developing Kuiper's secure manufacturing software system and orchestration software capabilities. These products enable industrial automation for the manufacturing of the Kuiper satellite fleet and its supporting ground equipment. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to develop, qualify, produce, and deploy solutions and products enabling Kuiper's global network.About the team
The Kuiper Manufacturing Software team is responsible for the architecture, design, build, and installation of the software used to manufacture the Kuiper satellite fleet, ground equipment and ASICs. We partner with hardware, software, test engineering, and enterprise architecture teams to ensure efficient and secure manufacturing operations.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming languagePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
