This position is a perfect match for mechanical engineers who have completed their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and amassed industry experience. Your role will be pivotal within our R&D team, requiring close collaboration with multidisciplinary groups, performing detailed analyses, producing compliant design drafts, and steering product modifications and testing protocols. Your contributions will be key in driving cost efficiencies and fostering our intellectual property portfolio. Additionally, you will offer essential technical guidance, uphold stringent safety standards, and be an active participant in our continual enhancement processes.Key Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Design inventive mechanical subsystems aligned with product objectives and financial goals.
  • Deliver detailed drawings incorporating functional dimensioning, adherence to GD&T, and compliance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Execute comprehensive statistical tolerance analyses and establish quality assurance strategies.
  • Independently carry out thorough subsystem analyses employing tools such as FEA, Motion, CFD, among others.
  • Manage product modifications via the PLM system and oversee part dispositions.
  • Formulate coherent test strategies, collaborate with Test Technicians, and interpret test outcomes.
  • Conduct manufacturability assessments, suggest cost-saving approaches, and review inspection data.
  • Oversee Intellectual Property management through patent exploration, filing, and trade studies.
  • Provide technical support across departments, maintain safety protocols, and engage in ongoing improvement efforts.
  • Comply with firearm management and range safety practices.
  • Be willing to travel as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience range: Level I (1-3 years), Level II (3-7 years), Level III (8+ years).
  • Proficiency in CAD software for creating parametric models and drawings (SolidWorks is a plus).
  • Experience with PLM systems, Agile preferred.
  • Skilled in conducting complex analyses like FEA, kinematic and dynamic motion, CFD, or heat transfer.
  • Competency in producing clear, dimensioned, ASME Y14.5 standard-compliant drawings.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, standard inspection methods, and complex tolerance stack analyses.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes and material selection is essential.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly.
  • Problem-solving skills, including data collection, establishing facts, drawing conclusions, and formulating solutions.
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Working Environment:
  • Capacity to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Adherence to PPE requirements in designated areas is mandatory.
