Your team will focus on creating tools and services that abstract underlying cloud infrastructure in AWS to make it easier for product engineering teams to develop and run their code.We are looking for candidates who are passionate technologists and collaborative partners. This role is open to NYC based employees, and is hybrid (2 days a week in office).Responsibilities:Contribute to the technical vision for the teamDevelop, operate, and collaborate on the evolution of a centralized, scalable container runtime environment built on KubernetesSurface technical risks and partner with stakeholders to assess technical complexity and sustainability needsWork within the overlap of several areas of focus: observability, security, deployment pipelines, cloud infrastructure and containerizationPromote the use of modern automation around access management and Infrastructure-as-codeWork with product engineering teams, helping them optimize applications for cloud infrastructureDocument best practices, prescribed solutions, and production support playbooksParticipate in on-call rotations for the tools we build, and provide expertise to users of our solutionsDemonstrate support and understanding of our and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world.This role reports to Evan CowdenBasic Qualifications:3+ years of building and operating distributed systemsExperience collaborating on large projects with significant impact1+ years of Experience with AWS cloud toolingA high degree of interest in Linux containers and managed clustering solutions like AWS EKS/ECS/Fargate, and GKEExperience with Infrastructure-as-code conceptsPreferred Qualifications:A passion for automating thingsAn understanding of distributed systems architecture and experience with networking, load balancing, monitoring, and troubleshooting in a cloud environmentA high degree of empathy for existing solutions and issues.
