- Completes research of state-specific and federal regulatory requirements for hospice care centers, as well as internal departments to promote clinical and regulatory compliance, as well as support strategic business opportunities.
- Promotes compliance of agency operations with Federal/State regulations and with accreditation standards through policy development and revision, and process improvement.
- Provides support to care centers by answering concerns received through survey hotline and by collaborating with corporate, regional and care center leaders during surveys.
- Provides educational support regarding regulatory and accreditation standards. Participates in the development, coordination and implementation of education and training programs as applicable.
- Informs regional staff and corporate leadership regarding all areas of regulatory and accreditation compliance and performance improvement.
- Actively participates in the multidisciplinary Policy/Procedure Forms Committee.
- Develops and reviews corporate performance improvement initiatives and organizational process reviews.
- Continuously updates staff knowledge of nursing theory, ethics, procedures, regulatory requirements and disseminates information to staff as required to promote compliance and delivery of high quality care.
- Ensures current and relevant resource material is readily available to agency staff.
- Communicates with external Regulatory entities at the state and federal level on the organization's behalf to ensure and facilitate regulatory compliance.
- Serves as an organizational resource regarding regulatory and compliance matters, disseminating information to all concerned parties.
- Participates in occurrence calls, and leads as needed, and handles confidential information and issues with high degree of professionalism.
- Makes recommendations for improvement.
- Reviews care center records as needed.
- Prepares and submits statistical reports, presentations, and projects as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Current, unencumbered state license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience researching regulatory data, interpreting regulations, and translating regulations to organizational policies.
- Work experience at a home health agency or hospice agency.
- Five (5+) years' work experience.
- Strong computer and software skills.
