Job SummaryAuburn University Facilities Management is looking for a dedicated and hands-on Solid Waste Technician for our Waste Reduction and Recycling Department to help champion sustainability across campus. In this role, you'll be an essential part of the team that keeps our university running smoothly and responsibly-servicing waste and recycling containers both inside and outside campus buildings and ensuring our waste management systems operate efficiently and cleanly.Whether you're passionate about environmental stewardship or simply enjoy being out and about making a visible impact, this position offers a meaningful way to contribute to Auburn's commitment to sustainability. Essential Functions
  • Services solid waste and recycling containers including, but not limited to, carts, dumpsters, compactors, and other receptacles.
  • Operates equipment to collect and remove waste and recycling from university grounds.
  • Removes and replaces waste and recycling bins when necessary
  • Keeps areas around dumpsters and waste drop off points clean and in neat order.
  • Works alongside other departments who handle solid waste materials.

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of experiencein solid waste and recycling techniques. A degree may be used in lieu of years of experience.
