- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials, components, and equipment to support manufacturing needs.
- Research and identify qualified suppliers based on criteria such as quality, cost, reliability, and delivery capabilities.
- Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Evaluate supplier proposals and select the optimal supplier based on pre-determined factors like cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Issue purchase orders and manage vendor contracts to ensure compliance and reliability.
- Monitor supplier performance, including tracking quality, delivery times, and pricing to ensure consistent supply chain performance.
- Track inventory levels and proactively manage stockouts to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
- Identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities through negotiations and value analysis with suppliers.
- Stay informed on market trends and fluctuations in material costs to adapt sourcing strategies.
- Collaborate with engineering, production planning, and quality control departments to ensure materials meet specifications and production goals.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation to ensure compliance and support audits or reviews.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in manufacturing procurement or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of sourcing strategies, negotiation techniques, and contract management processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and implement effective purchasing solutions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (preferred).
- Knowledge of quality control principles and procedures (a plus) to ensure materials meet production standards.
