- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs Youth & Family staff as needed.
- Manages, directs and coordinates the assigned youth & family programs. Ensures high-quality programs and establishes new program activities.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting all participants, maintaining a clean and safe facility, and demonstrating professional conduct at all times.
- Responds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner.
- Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Assures compliance with YMCA program standards is met and safety procedures are followed.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of youth and family program information. May organize and schedule program registrations, distribute flyers, and/or attend community expos.
- Communicates well with others. Able to interact with the children attending the programs, their parents, and/or guardians.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
- Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
- Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.
- Actively participates in staff leadership activities and meetings.
- Assists with the management of the budget in controlling expenses.
- Expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- All other duties as requested.
- Minimum of 21 years of age.
- Experience or extended education in the areas of education, social services, recreation or equivalent required.
- Experience working with children ages infant up to 12 years old and knowledge of the developmental stages and needs of youth required. May also assist with teen programming.
- Experience in leadership/supervision required; applicable experience in a YMCA or other childcare setting preferred. Previous experience with diverse populations recommended.
- Strong organizational skills and effective communication skills to present information, gather feedback, and highlight risks, opportunities, and key business points.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to make presentations, develop authentic and deepened relationships with members and community partners.
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software.
- This person should have strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks and balance shifting priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

- Coordinator should have or be working towards Y-USA Team leader certification.

- Attention to detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
- Use good judgment and discretion within the department and assignments.
- Certifications: CPR, First Aid, within 60 days of hire.
