Ensures departmental budget documents are complete and monitors expenditures, provides procurement and contracting support, supervises dispatchers, and manages department technology.What you will do
  • Assist Executive Director in preparing annual operating budget proposal and maintaining budget documents in Allovue. Responsible for department level financial controls and reporting, grant management and coordination of end of year close out.
  • Manage security technology systems across the district, including access control, alarm systems, CCTV, CAD software, and officer laptop security software installation and maintenance through project management, active troubleshooting and support and purchasing/inventory. Maintain access control system for buildings, including security roles for badging. Ensure department always has adequate number of working radios and backups; perform or coordinate necessary maintenance and repair.
  • Act as departmental representative for purchasing and procurement. Work collaboratively with Division of Purchasing to manage the departmental processes for purchasing goods and procuring contracted services. Ensure that departmental needs are met, necessary equipment/uniforms are purchased/replaced on a regular cycle, and necessary contract/vendor management services are provided.
  • Manage position request process for department to ensure vacancies are posted and filled timely. Ensure time entry is completed bi-weekly and any supplements, stipends or out of class payments are included. Participate in interview and selection process as needed. Supervise dispatchers. Acts as records control officer in response to subpoenas, requests/holds from Metro Department of Law, public records requests, etc.
  • Coordinates/participates in Accident Review as needed. Assists in creation and review of departmental procedures and protocols.
  • May represent the department at Metro Office of Emergency Management in disaster/emergency situations.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience Qualifications
  • 4-6 years Experience in bookkeeping/accounting, technology management, emergency management, operations management or related work Required
Skills and Abilities
  • Attention to detail, computer software/technology applications skills, ability to work with all levels of employees and represent the department in both routine and emergency situations.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid TN Driver’s license Required
  • Must have or be eligible to obtain Tennessee Armed Security Guard license Required
Equivalency
Starting At: $80,067.82Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
