Marathon TS is seeking a Systems Architect to support a federal client in Washington, DC.About the roleThe System Architect provides leadership and management of enterprise-wide information Technology to include IT infrastructure management and consolidation, enterprise architecture, IT governance, and integrated IT service delivery.In this role, you will work with virtual server services for hosting applications, a virtual desktop infrastructure including zero/thin clients and desktop image development, file and print services, mobility services including device management, security services, network services including wireless and WAN connectivity and remote access, VoIP telephony and messaging services including instant messaging and email, storage area network services, data center management and business continuity/disaster recovery services.Location: Washington, D.C.Clearance: U.S. citizen and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearanceResponsibilities:
  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high–level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications, analyze system requirements, and conduct infrastructure design and development activities
  • Assist with the development of systems requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies
  • Provide technical support for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations and develop system architecture and system design documentation
  • Assist with system development and implementation planning through the assessment of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans
  • Interact with the client and team members regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts. Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
  • Provide system improvement recommendations including opportunities for system consolidation
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Science, or other relevant discipline; an advanced degree or at least 15 years work experience
  • Experience with VMware ESXi 6.x or ESXi 7.x management and administration
  • Experience with architecture design, system maintenance and patching, and advanced troubleshooting, capacity management, monitoring, and reporting
  • Possess demonstrable experience and a high level understanding in at least 3 of the following 7 areas:
  • Server Virtualization
  • Power and cooling infrastructure
  • Vmware Horizon VDI
  • Data center routing and switching.
  • Storage architecture
  • Microsoft 2012, 2016 server design and architecture
  • Disaster recovery systems design and implementation
  • Must have active VCP certification and one of the following: CCNP, MCSE or M365 Expert
