- Partner with researchers to plan and conduct generative and evaluative research.
- Analyze user behavior, needs, and mental models to guide product decisions.
- Identify key moments in the user journey—especially across onboarding, install, and usage cycles.
- Solve system-level problems and lead the design of end-to-end flows, from install and free onboarding to subscription and support experiences.
- Deliver design solutions that balance usability, accessibility, business goals, and platform constraints.
- Produce user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI with clear rationale and intent.
- Participate in or lead shaping cycles alongside Product Managers and Engineers, contributing to problem definition, and solution.
- Drive alignment with stakeholders on outcomes and success metrics, not just features.
- Facilitate collaborative design sessions and present work with clarity and humility.
- Contribute to improving design processes, design systems, and documentation practices.
- Mentor less experienced designers and provide thoughtful feedback in critiques.
- Influence how UX integrates into the product development process and partner with Product, Engineering, and CX.
- 5+ years of UX/product design experience with a portfolio showcasing shipped work across multiple platforms.
- Experience designing for mobile (iOS/Android), preferably with service-based or behavior-change products.
- High proficiency with design tools (Figma).
- Experience working in Agile or Shape Up environments with cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of accessibility, usability, and inclusive design practices.
- Humility, empathy, and curiosity when working in personal and sensitive domains.
- If a remote employee, you are willing and able to travel to Global Headquarters in Owosso, MI several times a year. Due to this, you must maintain a current, valid driver license and personal automobile insurance. For on-site employees, no travel is required.
- The majority of your time will be spent at a desk using a phone, computer and monitor, and general office equipment. You may be required to reach with hands and arms; sit; stand; talk and hear; use your hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Strong grasp of UX writing and microcopy—you understand how words shape experiences, support behavior change, and convey empathy in sensitive contexts.
- Familiarity with designing experiences that depend on device-level integrations (e.g., screen time APIs, VPN frameworks, app usage tracking), and collaborating closely with developers to align design with platform capabilities and limitations.
