The Solder Technician is responsible for soldering surface mount and through-hole components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) in accordance with IPC-A-610 workmanship standards. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to follow detailed instructions and technical documentation.Key Responsibilities:
- Solder surface mount components (SMT) onto PCBs.
- Solder through-hole components with precision and accuracy.
- Perform visual inspection of solder joints and assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC-A-610 standards.
- Read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and work instructions.
- Identify and count components accurately.
- Maintain organization of parts and work area.
- Adhere to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety protocols.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Proven experience soldering SMT and through-hole components.
- Familiarity with and ability to inspect solder joints to IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
- Good working knowledge of ESD procedures and IPC standards.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, including BOMs and assembly drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to identify electronic components accurately.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to follow both written and oral instructions precisely.
