Position Summary/Purpose of Position:The Program is moving the University of Maryland , leading the transition from legacy systems to the next generation of administrative computing.We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled, and experienced leader to join our team as the ERP Change Manager. The incumbent will manage a wide range of tasks aimed at ensuring the successful implementation and adoption of ERP systems (e.g., Workday) with a specific focus on minimizing resistance, maximizing engagement, and ensuring that the ERP system is utilized effectively to achieve business objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the leadership team shaping the future of the administrative experience at the University of Maryland.This is a full-time, permanent position with the ERP team in the Division of Information Technology (DIT). Following implementation of Workday, the incumbent will transition to a post-production support role responsible for ongoing management of change impacts of functionality in Workday and supervise the trainers and communications specialist.This position is considered an essential position and may be required to work at the normal work location or an alternative location during a major catastrophic event, weather emergency, or other operational emergencies to help maintain continuity of University services.

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience:
  • Minimum of five (5+) years' experience with change operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of information systems, particularly in the area of HCM and Finance.
  • 3 years experience managing teams.
  • Experience with support, problem identification, and resolution.
  • Expertise with office productivity applications such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office.
Knowledge , Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under various conditions and constraints.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with members of other functional/technical teams to identify action items, team member responsibilities, etc..
  • Ability to understand possible impacts to changes to a highly integrated system, determine the depth/breadth of testing necessary to minimize risk of system changes, execute and record results of testing (including data staging), etc..
  • Analytical abilities, critical thinking, and problem-solving competencies to support non-standard, unique problem resolution.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including relationship and conflict management.

  • Experience implementing or using a modern ERP information system.
  • Experience with large-scale, cross-functional technology implementations in an institution of higher education.
  • Experience in change management or project management.
  • Experience managing relationships with consultants.
