In this role, you will lead and mentor teams across strategic initiatives that span business units and operating groups. You will coordinate and complete projects, define scope and performance outcomes, manage vendors and service providers, and facilitate cross-functional collaboration. This role requires a solid grasp of project management methodologies, risk identification, resource allocation, and process improvement.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives that span business units and operating groups
  • Coordinate and complete complex platform migration projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines
  • Define project scope, performance metrics, and resource allocation plans
  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones
  • Develop business cases and cost-benefit analyses for review by senior and regional leadership
  • Manage vendor and service provider relationships to ensure quality and accountability
  • Facilitate meetings, lead process improvement efforts, and ensure accurate project documentation
  • Present project updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Investigate and resolve non-standard requests and issues with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Prioritize workload and support ad hoc initiatives as assigned

  • 7+ years of project/program management experience in large-scale, enterprise environments
  • Proven experience managing complex migrations involving multiple platforms and stakeholders
  • Proven solid understanding of SDLC/PDLC, Agile methodologies, and EDI-related technologies
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings and present to leadership
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and systems-oriented mindset
  • Experience working in matrixed environments with accountability for deliverables across non-direct reports
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint, and project management tools (Smartsheet preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed environment — accountable for outcomes without direct people management responsibilities
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification (or actively pursuing)
  • Experience in healthcare technology, especially within Optum or UHG environments
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or similar project tracking tools
  • Solid PowerPoint skills, especially for leadership reporting and stakeholder presentations

The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment.
