Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking an Employee Health Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee and coordinate the Employee Health Program at NVRH. The Employee Health Program encompasses ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, conducting occupational health surveillance, managing immunizations, responding to injuries, and promoting employee wellness. In collaboration with Human Resources, Infection Prevention, and department leaders, the Employee Health Nurse will help ensure a safe and healthy workforce while meeting regulatory and accreditation requirements.Responsibilities:Employee Health Screening & Compliance Management - Conduct pre-employment health screenings including immunizations and TB testing, maintain HIPAA-compliant health records, and ensure staff compliance with annual vaccination requirements and respiratory protection programs.Occupational Injury & Exposure Response - Manage workplace injury evaluations, bloodborne pathogen and respiratory exposures, coordinate workers' compensation documentation, and facilitate return-to-work clearances in collaboration with HR and medical providers.Regulatory Compliance & Reporting - Maintain employee health policies per state and federal regulations, prepare compliance reports and trend analyses for leadership, and support survey readiness for CMS, OSHA, and state regulatory reviews.Staff Education & Wellness Program Leadership - Provide occupational health education on topics such as PPE use and exposure protocols, support employee wellness initiatives and ergonomic programs, and collaborate with Infection Prevention to monitor and respond to illness clusters and potential outbreaks.Requirements:
  • Current Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS from the American Heart Association required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience required.
  • Experience in Employee Health, Occupational Medicine, or Infection Prevention preferred.
Certification as a Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN/COHN-S) and OSHA 10/30 training and/or NIOSH Fit Test Trainer experience preferred. * Demonstrated ability to manage confidential data and work independently
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
