  • Knowledge of instrumentation preferred.
  • Key attention to detail required to inspect surgical instruments for cleanliness and functionality. To further identify instruments in need of repair or refurbishment and ensure correct process is followed to prevent negative outcomes to the surgical team.
  • Knowledge of equipment function sufficient to be able to determine operational adequacy and to distinguish between operator error and equipment malfunction.
  • Knowledge of applicable sanitary, infection control, and safety standards sufficient to be able to perform all assignments within the safety parameters

  • Cleaning and Disinfection.
  • Preparation and Sterilization.
  • Keeps accurate records of sterilization processes to comply with federal and other external regulations by following departmental policies and procedures.
  • Carefully and properly handles sterilized items to ensure sterility is maintained.

Physical requirements: This position is classified as Light Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (66% of the time) to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work.Must be able to pass background check. We also conduct pre-employment physical and drug testing. Any job offer will be contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment physical with a drug screen, background check and obtaining active licensures per job requirements.
