- Perform data entry of information related to OSHA tracking on specialized software.
- Be able to relate to other team members in stressful situations and be a resource to other departments concerning community medically related resources.
- Serve as a liaison to Employment Services for pre-placement physical evaluations.
- Provide medical support through triage, phlebotomy and assessment skills.
- Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws.
- Reports all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.
- Work safely 100% of the time
- Performs medical assistant tasks indicated for patients seen in the Mercedes Medical Clinic organized under employment with the DCH Occupational Medicine Department.
- Performs tasks required to prepare patients for physicals and provider examinations, which may include vital signs, height, weight, vision screening and EKG.
- Reports abnormal results and/or observations to provider.
- Correctly scans and organizes all medical data in the medical record.
- Provides exemplary customer service at all times, including greeting customers and assisting customers with any concerns.
- Appropriately manages scheduling of clinic appointments and referral appointments for Outpatient/Ancillary Services and specialty MDs.
- Assists with answering, screening, or forwarding calls, providing appropriate information, taking messages and notifying appropriate clinic personnel.
- Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
- Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook

- Performs essential job functions in a manner that ensures the safety of patients, visitors and employees.
- Identifies and reduces unsafe practices that may result in harm to patients, visitors and employees.

- Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet.
- Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.

- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Proficient in computer skills and common computer programs.
- Must possess exceptional communication skills.
- Experience in a clinic setting, with medical records and medical terminology preferred.
- Good communication and customer service skills required.
- Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
- Interpersonal Relationships: Position requires working and communicating effectively within a team in a fast- paced working environment delivering medical services to patients and clients.
- Physical Work Conditions: Position includes potential exposure to human body fluids, disease, infection, lab chemicals and hazardous material. This position requires wearing personal protective equipment in appropriate situations.
- Structural Job Characteristics: This position requires full time staff coverage Monday through Friday, 7:00am until 5:00pm and requires work necessary to perform the job. Individual employee schedules may vary to ensure proper clinic coverage.
- Position requires talking, hearing, bending, twisting, walking, kneeling, crouching, stooping, balancing, reaching, pushing, lifting, grasping, repetitive motion, standing, and/or using hands to handle, control, or feel objects.
- Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
