- Independently execute compressor part designs or re-designs to achieve the required improvements by collaborating with multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams, discipline chiefs and subject matter experts to ensure design readiness for and first-time design quality.
- Proactively develop mechanical arrangements that result in products and components that are low cost and competitively superior within program schedule milestones.
- Participate in root cause investigations and ensure robust product and process corrective actions are implemented
- Use best practices for assessment and defining “Right-size Analysis” through risk-based decision-making process.
- Support engineering related efforts to meet in-house production and supplier MRP requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 5+ years of prior relevant experience, or
- An Advanced Degree in a related field and 3+ years of experience.
- Experience in creating/interpreting drawings, 3D Modelling, performing Tolerance Stack up and knowledge of manufacturing methods.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
- Candidates must have exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
- Experience working in the Aerospace Industry within the design and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experienced in performing statistical analysis methods (like Monte Carlo, regression analysis, Design Of experiments, Statistical process control) and application of it to make risk-based decisions.
- Designing or manufacturing or Inspection of Airfoils.
- Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, Teamcenter, Unigraphics, Ansys, and classical methods of analysis.
