
Fitness Specialist

- Teach a variety of quality fitness classes as assigned to include group classes.
- Lead group hikes and/or ‘fun runs’ as requested by large parties or corporate groups
- Provide thoughtful, positive, friendly and professional service to all internal and external guests and exhibit a positive attitude at all times.
- Provide personal attention to every guest in the fitness center (actively engaging guests while assisting with machines, bringing towels, and water during workout)
- Continue personal growth and education through onsite resources
- Review personal work schedule on a regular basis for changes and adjustments
- Counsel guests regarding recreational/fitness opportunities at home and at the Broadmoor
- Promote all aspects of the spa
- Keep up to date certifications, pursue continuing education opportunities
- Work as a team member with other sport/recreation professionals
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment to include proper use of equipment and applicable safety standards
- Be flexible and positive to changes required to enhance guest experience or to meet the fiscal needs of the organization
- Respond positively to feedback provided by guests, members and co-workers to continually offer growth in the position
- Assist in the development of resolutions to ongoing technical, equipment, and program development concerns
- Fulfill extra duties on a daily basis. This includes, but is not limited to the following: folding and stocking linen, opening and closing the Fitness Center, refreshing drink stations, offering water to guests of Fitness Center, maintaining service expectations and procedures, cleaning and stocking locker rooms, dispensing of soiled linen properly, maintaining and properly using and cleaning all equipment provided
- Maintain all applicable ethical standards
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science or related field and/or certification by recognized national certification program. Experience in teaching aerobic, strength and/or water classes. Two years of experience in position is preferred.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others.
- ACSM – exercise leader or health fitness instructor desired with national certifications from accepted institutions such as ACE, AAFA.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Occasional heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.) with a work environment that may be indoors and outdoors at times.
