position summaryMerjent, Inc. (Merjent) is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager with a focus on water resources to join our team. The successful candidate will work with client and in-house engineers and other team members to manage and support preparation of plans/specifications; conduct permit review, feasibility investigations, and report and study preparation; ensure compliance with regulations; and complete other design documentation development related to water resources for client projects. This position will focus on water resources affected by primarily energy industry projects such as natural gas, electric transmission, transportation, wind, and solar.Flexible/hybrid work arrangements are available for professionals who can work successfully in a remote work environment. The anticipated salary for this position is between $133,000-$160,000, depending on qualifications and experience.responsibilitiesThe Project Manager will be responsible for the following:
  • Manage project teams with respect to engineering needs.
  • Assist clients with the design and analysis of a variety of projects, including civil engineering requests related to water resources.
  • Prepare design documents and technical reports to assist in the requested scope of work and associated budgets for engineering services.
  • Review documents to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and industry standards.
  • Prepare technical documents for client and project management review and provide revisions based upon feedback.
  • Lead development of proposals, quotes, and scopes for clients' projects and needs.
  • Lead project meetings and interact with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Adhere to project schedules and budgets based on client needs.
qualifications and experienceThe successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but not required.
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience working within the field of engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, not required.
  • Previous experience leading a team of junior engineers.
  • Previous experience working with energy clients is a plus.
  • Previous experience working on hydro and dam projects is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with a professional services consulting company is preferred.
  • Previous experience or training with CAD software (AutoCAD), GIS (ESRI), and a variety of hydrology and hydraulic modeling software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write descriptive and technically accurate specifications and reports.
