The person in this position will report to the Teller Supervisor.Summary:Under supervision, and in accordance with existing procedures and systems, provides a variety of member service functions involving the receipting and/or disbursing of funds, (i.e. checks, money orders, traveler’s checks). Work involves constant and direct dealing with credit union members and potential members, and requires the ability to accurately record information and communicate effectively. Work might be performed on the teller platform or at a drive-thru window.Responsibilities:Provides the following services for members, in person, by telephone or by mail.Processes deposits to checking or savings accounts and disburses cash or check withdrawals; processes checks and other transactions.Provides travelers checks, money orders, credit card cash advances, receive loan payments and service charge payments for services.Process transfers between accounts and automatic distribution forms, recording all transactions according to member's request.Redeems US Savings Bonds and balance ATM.Operates on-line teller terminal and accurately records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions.Opens and closes his/her Teller terminal, accounts for cash assigned, received, disbursed on a daily basis. Accurately balances to teller terminal close report and remits daily work to Head Teller for disposition.Performs such other duties as might be assigned from time to time, including but not limited to, check encoding, ATM machine balancing, address changes, filing, answering telephone, process mail, and assist other teams as required.Exceeds all member service standards of the credit union.Being an advocate of Michigan First culture.Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
6-12 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple business correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to operate standard office technology, equipment and tools.
Ability to learn or be familiar with the differences in a basic number of products and services offered by our credit union vs. other financial institutions.
Ability to stand during all periods of time spent at the teller window.
Has sound interpersonal skills and is cooperative and positive.
May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
