Process Controls Technician-Maintenance Craftsman

- Focuses on system automation and must be well-versed in PLC and HMI programming and integrating these into existing and new systems. Knowledge of communication and network layers is also preferred.
- Assist in developing project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Confer with engineers, vendors, contractors, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects and products.
- Coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and facility requirements.
- Design, implement, maintain, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for the facility.
- Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Assist with Maintenance Electro-Mechanical Technicians to troubleshoot equipment.
- Participate in continuous improvement culture
- Document activities in SAP.
- Train Maintenance and production personnel as needed.
- Frequent bending and lifting of items up to 40 pounds as needed.
- Work with and around various solvents, inks, corn starch and cleaning chemicals.
- Able to frequently ascend/descend a ladders/stair as required to repair equipment
- Sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, climb and reach overhead as needed
- Stand on concrete floors for 12-hour shifts
- Push/pull objects as needed
- Must be able to follow all safety processes and procedures

- Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills
- Must be flexible, innovative and comfortable in setting own priorities

- Experience with designing, implementing, programming and troubleshooting control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, HMIs and industrial networks such as Ethernet IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, and configure motor control systems, servo drives, variable frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems.
- Experience with Allen Bradley software programming suites, this includes but is not limited to RS Logix, 5000, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View Studio a must and/or other similar industrial controls software products
- Experience with 3D/2D CAD (Solidworks/AutoCAD) for interpreting, modifying, and developing mechanical and electrical drawings. Prefer Draftsight experience.
- Experience with communication protocols such as OPC DA, OPC UA, etc. and software platforms for industrial data capture, process data historians and visualization applications.
- Prefer at least 3 years experience.
