Directing support personnel, you'll supervise detailed design preparation, testing, and prototype fabrication. Your ingenuity and creativity will drive the application of sophisticated technologies and scientific principles, while you chair design reviews and make final decisions on administrative matters!As a consultant in long-range company planning, you'll guide new or projected areas of technological research and advancements. With accountability for ensuring compliance with corporate codes and government, policies, and standards, you'll proactively analyze and remedy problems, define designs for reliability and functionality, and approve upgrade engineering projects and proposals. Your oversight will extend to quality control and risk assessment, ensuring successful project outcomes.How You'll Make an Impact
  • Commitment to promoting Siemens-Energy Zero Harm program including safety and environmentally friendly work practices.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Mechanical & Systems Engineering group develops design P&IDs, selects equipment conforming to appropriate standardization policies, evaluates design capability, and supports qualification testing.
  • Defining Mechanical & Auxiliary System Engineering designs for functionality, reliability, requirement compliance, ease-of-assembly, and cost reduction targets while conforming to applicable international standards.
  • Accountable and responsible for ensuring Mechanical & Auxiliary System Engineering specifications and criteria follow applicable government and corporate codes, practices, policies, standards, and specifications.
  • Finalizes administrative or operational decisions, ensuring effective attainment of objectives.
  • Approves proposals, cost estimates, and resolutions for Upgrade Engineering projects, covering equipment, materials, personnel, and services.
  • Supervises quality control tasks, ensuring alignment to schedules, plans, and personnel performance.
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities for Upgrade Engineering projects, approving vital measures.
  • Responsible for upgrading projects to ensure they remain within the constraints of time, cost, quality, and scope and report any significant deviations including proposed countermeasures.
  • Advocate for operational excellence and continuous improvement in all aspects of the business and set an example for others to follow.
  • Act as a motivator for change, champion, and drive transformation in the face of uncertainty and adversity. Embrace accountability for errors, demonstrating them as learning opportunities to enrich outcomes, and imparting insights to guide others away from comparable pitfalls!
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with safety guidelines related to onshore & offshore industrial plant powers.
  • Proficient knowledge of project prioritization, project execution, and project management, including a deep understanding of construction, commissioning, handover, and post-project activities.
  • Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
  • Experience in contract management and managing contractors.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication, adept at collaborating with multiple functions, roles, and levels within the organization, including mentoring junior team members.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical / Systems Engineering.
  • 15+ years or more Industrial Gas Turbine-Packaging experience.
  • Extensive digital literacy, knowledge of design and visualization software, scheduling software, and MS Office products including Word, Excel, Project, and Power-Point.
  • Proficient experience with project management and organizational skills including time management, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
High-level knowledge of:
  • Gas Turbine Packaging & associated auxiliary systems Engineering including Fuel, Oil, and Air systems
  • Structural Package Design and Packaging Configurations.
  • Creation, review, and buy-off of Package system P&IDs
  • Solving electro-mechanical auxiliary systems
