DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Located in Seattle Washington, the Institute on Human Development and Disabilities is internationally recognized for improving the lives of children, adolescents, and adults with or at risk for developmental disabilities through innovative research, education, interdisciplinary clinics, community engagement, and advocacy.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates ability to schedule new, return, and procedure appointments and coordinate and schedule ancillary appointments consistent with patient needs and clinic scheduling guidelines, and to schedule interpreter services.
  • Demonstrates ability to cancel and reschedule appointments (noting correct cancellation reason); review daily schedule to identify patients who did not keep scheduled appointments and notify clinical staff/patient as appropriate; manage wait list.
  • Follow an effective workflow for the referral process to address both internal and external referrals, as well as communicating with referring providers
  • Demonstrates ability to provide confidential care to patients and families and successfully meet both internal and external customer needs.
  • Utilize forms and letters to document the process
  • Follow processes for specific subspecialty referrals with physicians
  • Maintain a database for tracking referrals using EPIC and oversee the referral process for compliance with process
  • Create, maintain, and adjust provider templates per provider requests
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Two years Patient Services Specialist 2 experience
OR
  • An equivalent combination of education/experience
