  • Performs all aspects of electrical work constructing and maintaining roadway lighting, traffic signal electrical systems, ITS, etc. in assigned areas. Knowledgeable and highly skilled in all aspects of electrical work.
  • Oversees and assists with the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical power lines for streetlights, traffic signal systems, ITS, and other components.
  • Provide daily communication with the client’s representatives.
  • Directs the crew members on specific job tasks.
  • Operates various tools for the work (various manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-along, jackhammers, drills, ground rod drivers, hand lines, etc.)
  • Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate the work to be performed.
  • Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
  • Responsible for inspections, proper working conditions, and necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
  • Assists with groundwork when needed.
  • Assists with power outages and electrical problems.
  • All other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.
  • Works around hazardous equipment and near energized parts or equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to terminate secondary pedestals and meter boxes.
  • Must be able to read and follow prints.
  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call-out work.
Education & Experience:
  • Valid State issued Master’s license.
Pre-Screen:
  • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
License & Certifications:
  • A Driver's License is required.
  • A commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • RARE (less than 10%): Kneeling, Crawling, Climbing Ladders, Stooping, Squatting, body-twisting, Climbing On/Off Truck, Climbing Poles, Gripping.
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Pushing, Sense of Touch, Carrying, Pulling, Manual Dexterity, Lifting, Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): Standing, Reaching, range-of-motion, Walking, Sitting, climbing stairs.
  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Seeing, Lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., Sense of Touch, Climbing, Hearing/Speech Range, Lifting up to 10 lbs., Speaking Clearly, Seeing Distant, Reading, Depth Perception, Color Vision, Balancing.
SafetyDue to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.

  • Works around excessive noise from machines (bore drill, backhoe, trencher, mini excavator, bucket trucks, digger derricks, concrete saw, jackhammers).
  • May be exposed to hot and cold environments, poisonous plants or reptiles, and stinging insects.
