Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.HDR Engineering is looking for a Senior Project Manager-Engineer to join our growing and nationally ranked team of Power Delivery professionals.The primary duties of this role include responsibility for knowledge and execution of the technical aspects and deliverables of projects assigned and is an experienced, competent engineer who understands and can complete all technical requirements of projects.
  • Assigns tasks and provides guidance to team members, and coordinates QC reviews for work performed by engineers and/or designers.
  • Provides hands-on mentoring and team participation to create a bridge between business class technical resources and client requirements - acts as the customizing advisor to “configure” HDR resources in a manner expected by specific clients.
  • Mentors HDR staff and practice groups in the nuances of client organizations.
  • Acts as client manager and/or project manager for select clients.
  • Work with the Practice Leader to help drive development and preparation of proposals within the Practice. Identifies and develops opportunities to expand services to clients.
  • Work with the Business Class Leader to identify and develop specific technical expertise and will attend training and seminars focused on further development and understanding of complex concepts related to their discipline.
  • May also assist with developing technical papers and/or presentations that showcase HDR’s technical capabilities at industry conferences or other events.
  • Will also be responsible for quality control reviews of projects from other teams on an as needed basis.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE).
  • Minimum 10 years of distribution line design experience required.
  • Experience using PLS-CADD and other design software preferred.
  • Experience performing structural analysis, plan and profile preparation, line optimization, preparing specifications and drawings, and other engineering documents required for overhead and underground line projects.
  • Roadway and area lighting design experience desired.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
  • Some travel may be required.
