- Evaluates, plans, encourages and recommends improvements in the activities program; keeps the building principal informed of any developments impacting the program.
- Makes necessary arrangements, coordinates and schedules all activities and social events and the use of school facilities by student and community groups; arranges transportation for participating students.
- Initiates publicity about activities through school information coordinator; constructs, coordinates and distributes schedules of all student activity events on a master schedule.
- Schedules staff members to supervise all after school activities.
- Directs and develops an effective student council and student assembly programs and coordinates associated activities; supervises student elections.
- Directs and develops an effective student club program to support and complement the academic program.
- Coordinates club activities and schedules, including; assisting with developing and administering budgets and activity accounts, coordinating fund raising activities and acquiring and assigning club sponsors.
- Develops and administers an effective intramural athletic program to ensure maximum participation of students and utilization of facilities.
- Informs the principal, teachers and students concerning eligibility requirements for participation on athletic teams and in all school activities.
- Secures applicants and makes recommendations to the principal for selection of all interscholastic athletic coaches, intramural coaches, club sponsors and other extra duty sponsors.
- Administers the school athletic program which includes; scheduling all contests, securing game officials and other required personnel and authorizing payment for services as required, arranging for concessions, coordinating the use of district facilities for athletic events, and performing all other activities necessary to support the program.
- Oversees the monitoring of student eligibility for participation in athletics and discipline of athletes.
- Develops and administers the annual athletic program budget.
- Represents the school at various professional meetings concerned with student activities and athletics.
- Evaluates assigned faculty/staff.
- Expected to attend all athletic events, when feasible.
- Serves as mentor/disciplinarian for student athletes

- Normal attention with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less as well as 20 feet or more, required.
- Light physical demand with regular lifting of very light to light (1 to 25 lbs.) items by hand or occasional lifting of heavier items with mechanical assistance.
- Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Compute discount, interest, profit and loss; commission, markup, and selling price; ratio and proportion, and percentage.
- Perform reading, writing and speaking at an intermediate level.
- Ability and personality necessary to work effectively with colleagues, parents, other individuals, community and school groups and organizations; must demonstrate positive, effective “people skills”.
