Until FilledPosition Purpose: This position would be part of a team that coordinates Child Find activities and completes comprehensive evaluations to determine eligibility for Early Childhood Special Education and Speech Language services. This position may also provide speech and language services to a small caselaod of preschool students.Responsibilities:
  • Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, parents, coummunity agencies, and students
  • Provides a thorough assessment and diagnosis of speech, voice, and language impairments and overall developmental early childhood assessments
  • Conduct Community Screenings
  • Provides information, support, and counseling to parents and families when appropriate
  • Develop initial IEPs for students found eligible for Early Childhood Special Education services
  • Participate in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district
  • If needed, support the ECSE program by providing speech and language services to a small caseload of preschool students.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • ND Teaching License or ability to obtain prior to start date
  • Speech-Language License through ND State Board of Examiners
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Experience in conducting special education and speech and language evaluations to include ability to interpret standardized assessment scores
  • Experience communicating the meaning of standarized assessment results to a wide range of individuals (to include teachers, parents, and outside agencies)
  • Experience developing asssessment reports and IEP's
  • Strong communication skills- both written and oral
  • Willingness to work with interdisciplinary team and community partners
