It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.JOB SUMMARYThe Technical Lead for Customized Learning Programs oversees non-degree course content in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Analytics, including designing technical and non-technical courses, sourcing faculty, delivering learning experiences, contributing to team strategy and serving as a subject matter expert to guide partnership and sales recommendations and outreach. The Technical Lead for Customized Learning Programs applies a deep understanding of the latest data-centric technologies and evolutions in the AI and Analytics space, and excellent teaching and partner communication skills.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSExpert level content knowledge. Deep knowledge in AI, Machine Learning, Data Visualization, and Analytics with the ability to learn new concepts quickly and teach them to others. Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Tableau, command line tools, and version control. Communication / interpersonal skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. The ability to work collaboratively with others to develop and improve course content. The ability to coach faculty and Subject Matter Experts. Credibility in discussing the applications of Analytics and AI to business. The candidate must be credible to a business audience, with demonstrated experience in applying Analytics and AI to business. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Knowledge and skills required are typically obtained through a Ph.D degree in a relevant field (computer science, statistics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, analytics, etc.); industry experience: at least 3-5 years of experience serving as a data scientist at an advanced technology company or similar; and teaching experience.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES1) Design world class learning experiences - 30%
  • Work with faculty and learning design team to create effective non-credit learning experiences (or credit-based, where appropriate) to be deployed in synchronous, asynchronous, or hybrid formats focused on AI and Analytics
  • Adapt, customize, and deploy available academic programming in Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence from across Northeastern University
  • Build key course documents to guide design like scope and sequences, session plans and other resources and serve as Subject Matter Expert on AI and Analytics for other designers
2) Deliver world class learning experiences - 20%
  • Facilitate/lead courses/workshops on AI and Analytics as well as customize content based on partner needs
  • Support faculty in customizing short courses / workshops on AI and Analytics
  • Collaborate with Roux Institute and college academic leadership to identify faculty members to develop and deliver learning experiences
3) Conduct partner discovery to inform learning offerings - 25%
  • Collaborate with the partnerships and product team to lead learning discovery conversations with Roux Institute partner organizations, by providing subject matter expertise in the areas of Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. These discovery conversations will lead to an understanding of customization approach as well as desired outcomes, course format and content areas.
  • Ensure continuity of subject matter experts in sharing recommendations and aligning to catalog of offerings
4) Improve and refine learning offerings in collaboration with the partnerships and product teams
  • Support strategic development of custom learning catalog from subject matter expert perspective
  • Review and respond to internal and external data to improve the learning offerings as analytics and AI subject matter expert
