- Understand cell and molecular biology to establish cell-based assays and facilitate the identification and characterization of targets that play a role in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
- Establish and run cell-based assays (in both primary cells and immortalized cell lines) followed by analysis of mRNA (qPCR) and protein levels (Western blot and ELISA) in cells, supernatant, and tissues.
- Execute a wide variety of established molecular biology techniques including (PCR, DNA sequencing, PBMC isolation, ELISA, Biochemical assays, Western blot, Protein extractions, Flow Cytometry)
- Perform various mammalian cell culture techniques and transfections
- Data interpretation & troubleshooting/optimization of predefined methods
- Ability to use GraphPad Prism and Excel
- Record data in electronic notebooks
- Data presentation during regular staff meetings
- General lab maintenance
- Desired skills and daily activities would include, but are not limited to, cell culture (of both primary and immortalized cell lines), qPCR, ELISAs, Western blotting, transfections.
- Ability to isolate immune cell isolation from whole blood.
- Self-starter capable of working independently and directing their own day-to-day workload with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and oral communications skills to communicate the science with others
- Degree Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of molecular biology experience (either through an industry or academic research position)
- Experience in data analysis and results interpretation
