Loparex LLC is the worlds largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. The Malvern facility annually supplies three billion square feet of release liner worldwide. We are currently looking for high energy, safety focused and motivated individuals to join our Malvern, PA workforce as Printing Press Operator.Must be able to work 24/5 rotating shifts working 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights. Potential overtime available during week and weekends.Position Summary:JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to five years of related flexographic press operator experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Press operator experience with wide web flexographic and/or gravure presses.
  • Must have good record for attendance and punctuality and decorum.
  • Must work in a team environment, cooperating with co-workers and production leaders.
  • Demonstrated color acuity as measured by Ishihara Color Blindness Test.
  • Must have good basic math skills for calculations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., be able to climb stairs, reach, bend and push-pull.
  • Must be able to read a standard and metric ruler/tape measure and use the basic test equipment in our printing operation (caliper, viscosity measure, color measure)
  • Must have basic computer skills (navigation skills).
  • Must have clean work habits and ability to maintain a GMP workplace that meets Hygiene Requirements.
  • Must be able to read and understand written forms and instructions.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understand and follow all applicable safety and environmental requirements ensuring all OSHA, HAZMAT, and PADEP requirements and regulations are met.
  • Understand and follow parameters on work orders, schedules, and special instructions.
  • Complete line clear from one job to startup of next scheduled job and operate/run press.
  • Clean and prepare cylinders, plates, sleeves, carts, doctor blade units, bearings, gears, and other items directly used in the printing stations.
  • Input production data into the shop floor computerized reporting systems to provide complete and accurate documents and records.
  • Ability to troubleshoot printing defects and make press adjustments (ex. Cylinder impression, ink viscosity, etc.) as necessary within the process.
  • Perform quality tests to determine fit for use (ex. Color matching, ink rub off, ink adhesion, etc.).
  • Understand and follow established work instructions for handling, mounting, proofing, demounting, inspecting, and storing plates and cylinders.
  • General housekeeping to keep printing work areas clean, neat, and orderly and perform routine maintenance according to 5S Processes.
  • Mix inks, primers, varnishes, lacquers, silicone, and solvents for the press as needed according to established recipes and work instructions.
  • Document and maintain inventory of wet and dry materials, press operating supplies, and general packing commodities used in press operations.
  • Correct handling and disposal of press waste according to established procedures.
  • Load and unload base materials onto/from any of the presses, prepares rolls for splicing, and splices rolls to maintain a continuous running process.
  • Monitor material status and availability and materials and parts staged for next press job.
  • Work together with other press operators to perform general setup, operation, cleanup, and routine maintenance of the presses and press support equipment, including relief for breaks and lunch.
  • Understand and master use of basic measurement equipment/software to take QA Measurements for caliper, ink viscosity, ink color and density, print registration, and other required tests.
  • Train newly assigned Press Operators so that they possess the needed skills and knowledge to perform their assigned jobs safely and efficiently.
