OverviewWe are looking for a driven, resourceful individual who is highly self-motivated and possesses a strong entrepreneurial spirit looking to meet and exceed revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts in a profitable and win-win selling approach. The position requires well-planned extensive domestic and international travel. Measured by both productivity goals and activity goals this individual will contribute to the hotel's overall sales effort during planning and strategy phases through research and working with Marriott Sales Executives and Marriott Global Sales Offices.
- Knowledgeable of market, positioning of hotel, amenities and brand.
- Experience in catering sales
- Understand booking patterns, trends, high demand times, and events in the market.
- Research and identify new business opportunities for the hotel including reaching out to event planners and staying abreast of local events
- Research each customers business, hospitality needs, identify who to talk to and how to get sales closed.
- Exercise creativity, discretion and independent judgment in determining how to assemble an event to suit each customer's taste.
- Conduct site visits and prepare original, creative proposals tailored to address the needs of and to impress the customer.
- Directly responsible for achieving production numbers established by booking goals and outside sales activities.
- After securing business , deliver a high level of customer service with key decision makers, solve customer problems, meet commitments, seek customer input and anticipate customer needs.
- Preparing and conducting outside sales missions, presentations and represent Marriott and Pyramid Hotel Group at industry meetings, tradeshows and community events.
- Maintains and grows relations with the Hotel operations Departments
- Minimum Years of Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience
- Minimum Years of Experience: Two (2) years of hotel sales experience and/or experience in an above property sales position
- Knowledge of Houston market and sales trends
- Strong quantitative skills
- Strong time management & organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and reprioritize throughout the day/workweek
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to communicate effectively interdepartmentally
- Strong problem resolution skills & ability to work under pressure
- Ability to travel at approximately 30% of the time.

- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong systems knowledge with exposure to some or all of the following applications is ideal:
- Marriott Sales Systems / C.I.T.Y.
- Lanyon, Sabre RFP, etc.
- Star Reports
