The person we are looking for performs set-ups, changeovers, adjustments, and quality checks for producing products consistent with company and customer standards.Position Snapshot
An equipment technician is commonly expected to learn to read and understand a wire build sheet, demonstrate safety awareness, willingness, and ability to operate equipment and train others, and troubleshoot. To be successful in this role you will:Requirements and Education:
- Demonstrate safety equipment and machine safety awareness.
- Always maintains good housekeeping / neat work area.
- Must be able to read a micrometer.
- Reads and understands the wire build sheet.
- Safely and correctly loads coils with crane or forklift.
- Obtains forklift operator’s license.
- Adjusts rolling cassette/change dies to keep wire at desired size. Must have a good understanding of how to correctly size the wire.
- Fully understands automatic spooler, manipulator and manual spooler and their functions.
- Demonstrates all manual and automatic operations of the rolling/drawing line.
- Completes the required quality inspections: diameter and roundness, micing and correctly tagging every spool produced; provides the required samples to Quality Assurance.
- Completes production reporting in computer with accuracy.
- Effectively troubleshoots when problems occur.
- Demonstrates a willingness and ability to perform the operator preventative maintenance checklist.
- Maintains efficient and quality production.
- Demonstrates a willingness and ability to train others.
- High School diploma or equivalent; ability to complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions.
- A minimum of 3 months work-related experience is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable.
