DescriptionPosition at JBS USAJob Title: Procurement Manager ILocation: Swanton, VTRole:Procurement Manager will report to Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Corporate Head of Procurement and will be responsible for entire procurement/purchasing lifecycle, including procurement strategy, negotiations and purchasing of all materials and services required for a high-volume manufacturing facility. The procurement manager will be responsible for supporting the optimization of the procurement processes related to purchasing of all packaging, ingredients, services, supplies, and MRO parts. This role will support administrative tasks surrounding purchasing of materials mentioned above. This position will be responsible to ensure SAP accuracy in all facets of the procurement process. Works with facility managers, supervisors, and suppliers to ensure timely, full delivery of orders. This individual will work with R&D to purchase new materials and ingredients.Responsibilities:
  • Work with JBS Global Procurement team on projects and cost savings programs
  • Responsible for implementing and compliance with all JBS Procurement/Purchasing processes
  • Identify chronic quality issues and trigger problem-solving.
  • Ensures delivery of requested materials from JBS schedulers, planners, and requisitioners.
  • Ensures prompt, accurate, creation and maintenance of purchase requisitions and purchase orders
  • Ensures optimization of SAP to improve purchase process and accurate financial record documentation
  • Develop positive relationships with suppliers and keep in close contact regarding open orders and service levels.
  • Works with finance team to resolve block invoice issue's
  • Work with the plant leadership team to guarantee supply of all materials and services needed; collaborate with team to identify and avoid issues that would impact plant efficiency
  • Help process requisitions at the plant level
  • Support resolution of AP issues with SAP Workflow (i.e. Workflow, GR/IR Reconciliation)
  • Works with plant management to improve overall purchasing processes, material management and optimize inventory while maintaining plant efficiency.
  • Conversion of all purchase requisitions to purchase orders according to release strategies.
  • Confirms all purchase orders in SAP within 48 hours
  • Processes and supports product claims with suppliers, brokers and plants to an agreeable resolution and reimbursement for issue dealing with packaging and ingredients
  • Support inventory activities (cycle counts)
  • Work with corporate procurement to identify/setup/negotiate co-packers as needed for Culinary.
  • Partner will plant teams to ensure correct materials are in place on a daily basis
  • Support optimization of SAP to improve purchase process and accurate financial record documentation

  • 2- 5 years of supply chain experience, or equivalent education, in purchasing, sales, planning, logistics, or manufacturing management role
  • Superior analytic capacity and problem-solving skills
  • SAP or other ERP system in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of purchasing, selling, scheduling, and production planning of perishable food products desired
  • Experience in a manufacturing company with broad knowledge of operations, distribution, sales
  • Self-starter, driven individual focused on continuous improvement
  • Skilled negotiator
