We have a perfect opportunity at our Commerce City refinery, which is the largest refinery in the Rocky Mountain region and the only petroleum refinery in Colorado.We are looking for multiple Instrumentation Technicians and an Analyzer Technician to join our Maintenance group. You will support process operations, maintenance, and engineering by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing process control system equipment such as pressure, flow, level, temperature, pH, control valve, gas detector, etc.Minimum Requirements:A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)A valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to SuncorKnowledge of low voltage distribution systems, distributed control system (DCS) operation and configuration, programmable logic controller (PLC) operation/programming, electrical/instrument control device settings and calibrations, reading and interpreting circuit, process and instrumentation diagramsAbility to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditionsAn Associate's Degree (diploma) in the Instrument and Controls fieldOR successful completion of a formal program in the field of Process Instrumentation through military service or crafts apprenticeship program with 5 years of recent practical experience in maintenance of industrial instrumentation and controls equipment (calibration of smart transmitters, PLC, DCS, AMS, rebuild control valves, etc).OR current Instrument Society of Automation (ISA) Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level I and 5 years of recent practical experience in maintenance of industrial instrumentation and controls equipment (calibration of smart transmitters, PLC, DCS, AMS, rebuild control valves, etc)Responsibilities:Troubleshoot problems and find opportunities to improve the reliability of the refinery’s equipmentPerform calibrations, loop checking, troubleshooting, repair, and start-up on field devicesImplement programs for preventive and predictive maintenance of instrumentation systemsPlan work, including equipment evaluation and selectionUse charts and data to conduct analysis and properly diagnose equipment failuresImprove uptime production numbers by providing calibration accuracy and reliabilityRespond to callouts and emergencies and provide major maintenance supportUse SAP to capture timekeeping, work orders, instrument reports, maintenance and reliability data, and fault codes trend analysisLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd.Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, 5-8 hour shifts Monday through Friday OR 4-10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needsYou will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spacesThis position is safety sensitiveIn alignment with Suncor’s value of Safety Above All Else, we conduct pre-employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks, and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employmentHourly Rate and Compensation Details:This is a union represented position under USW 12-477$49.76 per hour with annual increasesCompetitive benefits programs offering choice and flexibilityGenerous pension and 401(k) savings plansRelocation support will be providedWhy Suncor?Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway™, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).
