- Demonstrated record of establishing and meeting or exceeding goals and objectives
- Proven record of planning and scheduling maintenance functions in order to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve throughput utilizing lean manufacturing principles without negatively impacting production.
- Demonstrated ability to train, develop, and evaluate Refractory technicians.
- Enforce a high standard of expected maintenance workmanship at all times.
- Coach and counsel employees on standard refractory practices and "best practices" for increased performance.
- Coordinate and evaluate the training of new employees in their job requirements.
- Monitor quality of refractory work to ensure job specifications are being met or exceeded
- Work in conjunction with production and other departments to ensure maintenance schedule is met.
- High school diploma, GED, college degree preferred
- Associate Degree or Journeyman's card in industrial trade field preferred.
- Two (2) to four (4) years experience utilizing leadership skills in a manufacturing maintenance environment in a supervisory capacity.
- The ability to work overtime, weekends, and shift work as required
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient with Microsoft Office software e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong problem solving, judgment, and critical thinking skills
- Aptitude for detailed work requiring a high degree of accuracy
- Good communication, high level of autonomy, collaboration and interpersonal skills are equally important
- Perform, understand and communicate detailed information analysis and evaluation, and have a good track record working effectively within a team-based environment
