Raleigh, NC or Columbia/Charleston, SCWe are seeking an experienced NBIS certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader in Raleigh, North Carolina. Candidates in South Carolina will be considered for full remote if located in the Charleston or Columbia areas. The successful candidate will work with the project manager to provide high quality inspection and reporting services. Primary duties will be initially focused in North Carolina and South Carolina; and will include additional Southeast states and clients as we expand into new locations.About the North Carolina Bridge Group

- Numerous Bridge Replacement Projects for NCDOT statewide
- NCDOT Statewide NBIS Bridge & Culvert Inspections
- SCDOT District 6 NBIS Bridge & Culvert Inspections
- Planning and Design Limited Services Agreement with all NCDOT Divisions for review and design work
- NCDOT Feasibility Unit Limited Services Agreement with various task orders
- Perform safety inspections of assigned structures, prepare/review reports to ensure all client requirements are met,
- Assist the Project Manager in the day-to-day operations of the NBIS Inspection contracts to include scheduling, logistics, and required monthly notifications to the clients.
- Mentor staff which may include providing general instruction, assigning, and reviewing work, coaching, and training, providing guidance and instruction in the proper and most efficient methods of accomplishing tasks,
- Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to self-motivate, work independently, and maintain a high degree of efficiency working remotely,
- Current qualification and experience under the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS),
- BSCE from an ABET accredited college/university or related is preferred
- Successful completion of the following National Highway Institute (NHI) courses:
- Or 130056 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges for Professional Engineers,
- 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges,
- 130053 Bridge Inspection Refresher Training (as required to be current),
- Thorough knowledge of bridge inspection methods and procedures, and inspection reporting procedures,
- Travel on short notice and for several weeks per month as needed,
- Physical ability to traverse steep embankments, work within confined spaces and at height, withstand working in extreme weather conditions,
- Lift/carry up to 100 pounds on uneven terrain,
- Possess a valid Driver License and acceptable MVR,
- Current approval by NCDOT as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader (preferred),
- Experience with NCDOT WIGINS software (preferred),
- Experience with BrM (AASHTOWare Bridge Management) (preferred).
- Experience with non-destructive testing methods. Certification through ASNT (NDT Level II preferred)
- Successful completion of additional FHWA-NHI coursework (recommended):

- 135047 Stream Stability and Scour at Highway Bridges for Bridge Inspectors
