TITLE:Camp Coordinator
REPORTS TO:Director of Instrumental & Vocal Instruction
LOCATION:Minneapolis
STATUS:Non-exempt; 1 FTE, 40 hours per week
May 15-August 15: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PMSUMMARY
The Camp Coordinator supports the Director in the smooth running of daily camp operations during the summer camp season. This position creates a positive first impression and overall camp experience through welcoming students and their families and attending to daily aspects of camp life. The Coordinator also supports camp faculty throughout each camp.RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Communicate pre-camp orientation information to students and faculty
  • Assemble and distribute camp materials including folders, nametags, pencils, schedules
  • Greet students on the first day of camp, developing relationships and distributing t-shirts
  • Welcome students upon arrival each day and facilitate camp dismissal, ensuring handoff to parents when necessary for younger age camps
  • Provide daily onsite support to camp students and faculty, including addressing any issues that arise
  • Supervise Sampler Camp students at beginning and end of day and lunch
  • Collect and track student medical forms
  • Monitor instrumentation for camps, updating Student Services and Lead Teachers as needed
  • Monitor and communicate auditions to students and ensure camp faculty receive student audition materials when applicable
  • Gather student feedback after each camp
  • Take pictures and videos of camps and send to the marketing department
  • Coordinate camp concert programs, recording, and communication
  • Report camp status to Director on a regular basis
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience. High school graduate or equivalent. 2-4 years related experience. Prefer connection to music education.
Abilities. Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish effective, professional relationships in collaborative environment. Willingness to learn, flexible and adaptable.
Knowledge and Skills. Strong organization and management skills. Proficiency with web-based collaboration environments and Microsoft Office. Positive attitude and strong professionalism. Must have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong initiative, organizational and time-management skills.
Physical Demands. Frequently working at a keyboard for up to 2 hours at a time. Frequent walking, stooping, and bending. Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 lbs.Powered by JazzHR
