Diversity of thought and the collaboration of various life experiences are what drive growth and innovation at AMF.Job DescriptionThe Production Planner is responsible for the proactive troubleshooting of late shipments or soon-to-be late shipments overall follow up and stock-level planning of parts in support of the parts business. This individual will work collaboratively with the supply chain and purchasing to continually improve processes, document processes, and identify ways to deliver improvements in our on-time shipments.Key Responsibilities
  • Work Orders -support prioritization of work orders and completion of work orders for commercial parts business.
  • Breakdowns - drive to shipment any high priority break down parts orders to meet customer's requirements.
  • Parts Orders - ensure proper safety stock is planned for parts including updates as needed based on demand and lead time.
  • Parts Orders - look forward at upcoming shipments to ensure that if they are going to be delayed communication is provided to the CCR's so that they can notify customers.
  • Parts Orders - work to "unstick" orders that are not moving through the system to improve the "shipment to promise" KPI.
  • Support daily GEMBA walk with identification of key issues for teammates and reporting on results.
  • Support troubleshooting and research on specific "stuck" orders by partnering with different departments and teammates.
  • Support a culture of safety and maintain a zero-accident environment. Ensure a safe and suitable work environment for self, teammates, and customers.
Required Knowledge/Skills & Experience
  • Min. of 3 years of experience working in a business that sells both "produced" and "commercial" parts
  • Basic mechanical and electrical parts knowledge or aptitude is a plus.
  • Superior Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Superior knowledge and aptitude with ERP systems, Microsoft Dynamics D365 expertise a plus.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate, and influence people from different departments and functions.
  • Is excited about process improvement, digging into root causes of failures, and documenting improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes and identify and document problems and solutions clearly and concisely.
  • LEAN experience is a plus.
  • Ability to handle detailed, complex work with competing priorities.
  • Motivated, focused, friendly, patient, organized, and proactive individual who can work with minimal direction.
Working ConditionsThis position is typically moving between an office environment and the manufacturing and warehouse floor.
