Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral health and mental health consultation, counselling, and case management to employees and assist in securing/referring for additional support/care/treatment as appropriate.
- Maintain a pool of external mental health and substance abuse resources, identifying viable and reliable local solutions and developing professional relationships to better facilitate worker support.
- Coordinate case management and patient follow-up assisting with local and state services available to different patient populations.
- Assist with the management of a substance abuse program, working with on-site substance abuse personnel to facilitate successful implementation and progression.
- Work with the Medical Review Officer and associated medical staff to ensure success of any associated random drug and alcohol testing when appropriate.
- Interface with the workforce, management, Department of Energy, and other stakeholders as required.
- Engage with Behavioral Health Team, assisting with program success, future development, and workforce and community engagement.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the area of mental health and substance abuse, providing counselling and guidance to management on associated issues.
- Provide professional advice for Health Services, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and the Legal and Risk Management department for matters involving mental health and/or substance abuse.
- Ensure confidentiality, accurate documentation, and record keeping compliant with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- May be required to assist in ancillary office/clinic duties such as scheduling, generating reports, assessments, metrics, etc.
- Provide training, education, and presentations on related mental health/substance abuse topics to staff as requested.
- Must have completed an accredited counseling graduate program in Social Work accredited by Council on Social Work Education and independently licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Professional Counselor as required by the state of Tennessee. with unencumbered licensing/certification as a Mental Health Service Provider as required by the state of Tennessee.
- Must have successfully passed the Association of Social Work Board's clinical licensing exam.
- Preferred 2-3 years’ experience in mental health, substance abuse counseling (individual and group) and case management.
- Familiarity in occupational health setting preferred
- Preferred Employee Assistance Program experience with Certified Employee Assistance Profession credential.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
- Strong critical thinking skills; problem solving, and decision making.
- Must have the ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk.
- Some bending and stretching could be required.
- Working under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
- Occasionally may be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
