- Lead the site Emergency Response Team activities – HAZWOPER Team, Confined Space Rescue Team, Fire Brigade, OCEAN
- Plan and execute emergency drills per corporate requirements
- Manage and inspect fire prevention/suppression systems
- Meet EHS requirements supporting short and long-term business needs and consistent with the EHS Risk of the location
- Provide technical EHS expertise and coaching to facilitate broad accountability of the EHS process
- Prepare reports in accordance with the company policies and submit by required deadlines
- Participate in plant audits and interface with internal and external auditors and regulatory and government agency personnel
- Participate/lead root cause investigations & develop corrective measures / drive actions to completion and sustainment
- Represent the organization at external forums and gather information to inform policy
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree* preferred; Environmental or Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline strongly preferred
- 7+ years emergency response, first aid, fire safety or security experience; manufacturing / chemical industry environment preferred
- Previous Incident Command/HAZWOPER Training
- EMT, Paramedic or EMK certification preferred
- Ability to offer guidance on all aspects of Safety, Health and Environmental emergency response issues
- US regulatory/compliance (OSHA, EPA, NFPA) knowledge
- Preferred experience to include; Confined Space rescue, Drill & Rescue Planning, Fire protection systems, Behavior-based safety processes knowledge
- Ability to respond during crisis and high-pressure situations and rapidly adjust to changing priorities as needed
- Successful candidate will be a team player; demonstrate ability to be flexible and adaptable and ability to deal with ambiguity
- Ability to gain trust and buy-in; ability to influence
- Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and possess a valid US Driver's license
