- Operator(s) are to know how to properly operator the labeler and x-ray
- Troubleshoot, identify, and fix issues within your ability
- Complete label challenges when due as spelled out in JA 21.0-PL-2
- Ensure challenge cans are kicked off correctly and accounted for at time of test
- Ensure that the label bed is filled as needed with the correct labels
- Ensure labels are checked in and ready for use
- Document all bundles of labels opened and sampled in a timely manner
- Store sampled labels in correct storage location
- Keep track of sample labels throughout the day ensuring labels sampled match up with the label check log
- Keep track of challenge labels throughout the day ensuring they match up with the label check log
- Ensure that the hot melt glue pot is filled to the appropriate level
- Check cans throughout the run for the following:
- Labels being applied properly and no defects
- Code and ink jet is applied properly with no defects
- Glue is being applied properly
- Ensure that all paperwork is being completed fully and properly
- Labeler Equipment Optimization Log (JA 23.20-PL-2)
- Label Check Log
- X-Ray Calibration and Seed Test Log (SOP081-PL-2)
- Can Code Sheet (JA 9.0)
- Review paperwork at the end of your shift and correct any mistakes
- Anytime there are kickoffs, always check down the line to ensure that no bad cans continue beyond the rejecter
- Challenge x-ray at required intervals
- Alert supervisor if issues or faults with x-ray arise
- Complete can code check at required intervals
- Knowledge of changing over the labeler and x-ray
- Communication any important information to the other operator(s) at break or rotation
- Maintain area/equipment cleanliness
- Reference downtime cleaning list for appropriate task
- Communicate directly with supervisor on any questions, comments, or concerns
