- 7+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with Land Development design projects.
- PE license in PA (we will consider candidates who are able to successfully obtain their PE within 6 months of their start date).
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
- Expertise / deep knowledge of the Land Development process in the City of Philadelphia as well as the surrounding region.
- Management and/or Project Management experience; proven ability to manage multi-discipline projects is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency with site design functions: site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, municipal & land-use regulatory approvals, etc.
- Experience working with stormwater management, especially while utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools.
- Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.);
- Proficiency in standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Proven ability to look at the Big Picture as well as the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.
- Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
- Experience working with Bluebeam Revu is a plus!
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus!
- Manage multi-discipline projects on a variety of project sites within the City of Philadelphia as well as the surrounding region.
- Oversee the development of Land Development Plans including the preparation of engineering design drawings, technical specification, and engineering reports (from schematic design through construction).
- Coordinate permits through regulatory agencies for large scale, complex projects.
- Provide expertise in hydrologic/hydraulic analysis (including Flood Control and Water Quality compliance).
- Delegate workload to Junior Engineers & Drafters; this includes mentoring / guiding Junior Engineers to develop Stormwater Management strategies, Utility Coordination, and Erosion & Sediment Control Design.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks; this includes monitoring schedules & budgets to ensure effective completion of projects accordingly.
- Complete field inspections, as needed.
- Meet regularly with clients.
- Prepare proposals for new & existing clients (including estimation of project fees).
