The Dogwood team is dedicated to finding creative design solutions to meet our customers' needs.General Job DescriptionDogwood Industries is seeking an experienced Welder to join our Team in Sedro-Woolley. A successful candidate will be able to efficiently and accurately weld together steel assemblies from plans and specifications, to perform simple fitting, process complex parts for assembly, and to direct another worker in assisting with welding or processing parts to be welded. Successful applicant understands written and verbal instruction and can understand and follow dimensional and welding drawings. Successful applicant can produce production quality welds in all positions within a given process. Candidate can operate most non-specialized metal working equipment. Candidate is able to fabricate steel in accordance with plans, specifications and the quality control hold points. Requirements:Skills Required
  • Welding competency in all positions for a single process.
  • Able to set weld machines to optimum parameters for work in accordance with WPS.
  • Understands weld symbols and prepares joints in accordance with code.
  • Utilizes jigs and fixtures where appropriate.
  • Performs basic fitting work as instructed.
  • High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Additional Skills Preferred
  • Skillful operation of most non-specialized metal working equipment.
  • Understands and applies visual inspection criteria in pre-QC work checks.
  • Places welds of proper size, spacing and sequence per work instruction.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree.
  • Certified welder holding current WABO or AWS certifications (FCAW, Plate, all positions).
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and shop drawings.
  • 3+ years of experience welding.
Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to lift 70 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a primarily production environment. The work environment characteristics here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.Compensation:$22.00 - $34.00 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.Benefits
