ExcellenceThe Role:Our site in San Luis Obispo, CA. is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. The position will be responsible for supporting and coordinating Quality Assurance activities for our Bulk Gas Purification systems. With the fast pace of innovations in semiconductors, you must be able to support the team’s use of quality tools that will lead to process efficiency, predictability, improved capability, and increased internal and external customer satisfaction. Our ideal engineer can look forward to working with a talented multi-disciplined international team to manage multiple complex projects with the use of a wide range of quality tools. We expect that you will collaborate, share, and be ready to learn in a team that partners closely with its customers.What You’ll Do:
- Be a driving force in advancing the Entegris Way quality mindset in accordance with defined policies and procedures.
- Drives the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products to established standards and customer specifications.
- Generates Complete analyses and audits on processes in order to drive continuous improvements in safety, quality, change management, efficiency, and strategic customer initiatives.
- Be a data-driven, hands-on engineer that can also guide others in best practices that enhances our data-driven, risk-based thinking culture.
- Supports and maintains failure analysis process; Quality Notification (QN) Management. Drives Problem Solving Teams in the failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective and preventative action activities for defect resolution.
- Advocates for the customer and takes ownership to understand customer expectations and make sure they are met; Ensures closure of robust corrective actions that reduce waste and improves production efficiency and quality within timing goals.
- Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product / system quality.
- Using quality planning tools to support new product development process; Participates in “Release to Manufacturing” efforts; Analyzes the results of, validation and qualification (V&Q) protocols for products, processes, and equipment.
- Routinely works on complex quality projects where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of factors.
- Drives quality activities that span from raw materials through to the end customer. This includes validation and qualification of changes and new products or materials, customer complaint resolution, and continual improvements of our products and processes.
- Demonstrates willingness to complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.

- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a significant amount of that time successfully leading quality related initiatives.
- Knowledge and experience with implementing Six Sigma.
- Experience with Statistical Process Controls.
- Experience with FMEA.
- Process audits and other proactive quality management practices.
- Strong project management skills with an ability to collaborate with cross functional departments such as R&D, Product Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
- Strong Microsoft Office and ERP systems skills (SAP strongly desired).
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer desired.
- Thorough understanding of various statistical tools.
- Demonstrated application and a thorough understanding of risk-based thinking.
- Thorough understanding of root cause analysis tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to influence across the team, including with international members.
- Ability to lead problem solving teams that include driving to root cause & implementing change.
- Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Manufacturing certification or experience also desirable.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, writing and/or understanding English.
