Are you ready to join our team?Job OverviewWe are hiring for an Electrical Certification Engineer to be a part of a team responsible for developing test plans, test reports, substantiation reports, oversee testing, witness testing. Develop and review documentation for electrical components such as Grounding & Bonding, thermal, System Safety Assessment, Failure Hazard Assessment, PHAC, IEHA, CTS, Outline DWS, Failure Mode effects Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis mounted on seating and furniture to ensure they meet all OEM, STC and regulatory requirements. Help in ensuring seating groups products meet all TSO and non-TSO requirements.This role will oversee Design Reviews to ensure program is aligned with requirements and milestone timelines. Develop processes in terms of templates and work instructions to ensure the team maintains desired quality, such as First Pass Yield and First Time Fix per published Collins Management Expectations.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support the group and execute any assigned program work.
  • Keep abreast of all OEM, STC and FAA regulations, modifications, changes and technical advances to assure continued operational safety is maintained.
  • Review, analyze and evaluate problem areas and initiate actions to correct technical deficiencies associated with the execution with Qualification of the programs at an LRU and System Level.
  • Support strategic planning efforts for complex programs to ensure the organization's objectives and business targets are achieved.
  • Review and presents plans and reports relating to training certification strategy depicting progress, and results.
  • Specific duties include sales support, marketing support and executive consultation and guidance.
  • Position could include domestic and international travel in support of Company engagements as a recognized focal for advanced technologies.
  • Regular engagement with regulatory authorities is central to this role, the individual prepares draft NPRM responses and responds to foreign and domestic certification authorities etc.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work with Program Managers, Certification Engineers and Design Engineers to develop program execution plans for high complexity aviation projects is highly desired
  • Supports and influences the design, development and validation of electrical components within seat and furniture on all A/C such as B747, B767 B777, B787, B737, A321, A320, A330, A340 and A350 aircraft and other OEMs such as Boeing and Air Bus.
  • Strong technical understanding of design architecture for electrical systems.
  • Preferred degree in Electrical Engineer, Electronics or Software Engineering
  • Experience writing and reviewing technical documents

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
