Welder - FabricationVeolia Water Technologies and Solutions is looking for a qualified Welder to assist their fabrication team at its Norfolk, VA Service Center. This position involves working on a team responsible for the manufacture and upkeep of several permanent and mobile specialized water purification systems. Essential Functions/ResponsibilitiesThe Welder Fabricator will fabricate and weld pipe and various metals to support the production and manufacturing of specialized water treatment equipment.Welds stainless steel piping using GTAWWelds bracing using (predominantly) GTAW, (rarely) SMAW, GMAW and other methods as requiredFabricates parts to build specialized equipmentEnsures welds are made to specificationReads blueprints to facilitate the building of specialized equipmentCuts various materials using saw, torch, plasma and other methodsGrinds MetalsQualifications/Requirements:High School Diploma / GEDMinimum of 2 years of work-related experience with shipping containers and water treatment equipmentELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:Capable of performing physical acts such as lifting, climbing and manual dexterityMust be certified in forklift operation within 90 days of employmentMust have minimum welding tools—shield, gloves, leathers, basic toolsDesired CharacteristicsMinimum of 3 years of experience in pipefitting, fabrication, and operation of drill press, belt sander, band saw, ironworker and bench grinderExperience in reading P&IDsWelding certificationKnowledgeable and committed to Environmental, Health & Safety practicesKnowledge of basic inventory control conceptsKnowledge of basic quality control conceptsExcellent communication skillsComfortable working across many teams
