The team is working on the next generation large language model-based applications. Our focus is on the artificial intelligence, leveraging our expertise to develop sophisticated AI algorithms that can understand, learn, predict, and significantly improve user experience. We aim to revolutionize the way we interact with machines, making them more intuitive and human-like than ever before. Driven by a commitment to excellence and a robust understanding of AI capabilities, we are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in language model-based applications.As an MLE Intern, you will be contributing to the development and optimization of our machine learning models. You will work closely with senior engineers and researchers to handle data processing, annotation analysis, and iterate on algorithm strategies to enhance our AI solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced field of AI and machine learning.Internships at TikTok aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May/June 2024. Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following summer internship cycles below:
1.May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024
2.May 27, 2024 to August 16, 2024
3.June 10, 2024 to August 30, 2024
We will prioritize candidates who are able to commit to these start dates. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early.- Participate in the collection, cleaning, and preprocessing of large datasets to prepare them for analysis and modeling.
- Assist in the development and implementation of data annotation frameworks, ensuring high-quality data for training our models.
- Collaborate with the team to analyze data annotation results and identify areas for improvement in data quality and model performance.
- Contribute to the iterative development of machine learning algorithms, including prototyping, testing, and evaluation.
- Work on cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into our platform, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest machine learning trends, tools, and best practices to continually enhance our processes and solutions.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
1. Currently enrolled in a PhD degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on machine learning or artificial intelligence.
2. Graduating December 2024 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
3. Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2024.
4. Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (e.g., Python).
- Basic understanding of data structures, algorithms, and statistical models used in machine learning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with a willingness to learn and contribute to a collaborative environment.
