Staff AccountantHarris County, Georgia, population 36,000 and located in west central Georgia along the Alabama border 60 minutes southwest of Atlanta, 30 minutes north of Columbus, and home to Callaway Resort and Gardens and FDR State Park, is accepting applications for a full-time Staff Accountant. This non-exempt position is responsible for:
reconciliating bank statements
maintaining general ledger accounts
assisting with journal entries and expenditure analysis
preparing financial statements
assisting with the annual audit
assisting with budget preparation and analysis
administering credit card accounts
overseeing fleet fuel management program
assisting the CFO with other financial reports and duties
Minimum qualifications include a four-year degree in accounting or related field, at least two years of related accounting experience, knowledge of fund accounting, GAAP, GASB, strong computer and analytical skills, excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, possession of a valid driver's license, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.The starting rate of pay is DOQ plus generous benefits including a five-year vesting schedule for retirement.To apply, visit the Harris County website atPosition opened until filled.
