- An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in counselor education and supervision from a CACREP-accredited program. ABD candidates will be considered but must complete degree requirements by the appointment date (August 1, 2024).
- University teaching experience in counseling.
- Licensed or eligible for LPC and/or LMFT in Texas.
- Experience supervising master's level counseling students.
- Ability to teach courses across the CACREP curriculum.
- Demonstrated commitment to enhancing diversity in academia and social justice, fostering the university's global initiative and supporting strategic priorities.
- Show evidence of sustained professional engagement through at least two of the following: (a) research and scholarly activity (required for tenure-track), (b) professional development and renewal activities related to counseling, (c) professional service and advocacy in counseling, (d) ongoing counseling practice
- An earned doctoral degree in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program.
- Licensed or eligible as an LMFT in Texas.
- Demonstration of a strong marriage and family counseling identity and the ability to teach in the Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling (MCFC) specialization.
- Postdoctoral experience teaching in a CACREP-accredited program.
- Membership and active involvement/leadership in professional counseling organizations.
- Experience with technology and software platforms for facilitating digital clinical records and field management (i.e., Tevera, TherapyNotes, VALT).
- Bilingual (Spanish-English).
- An established record of peer-reviewed scholarly publications and presentations. (preferred qualification for tenure-track)
- Experience working in a specialized area of clinical mental health counseling and/or marriage, couples, and family counseling (preferred qualification for non-tenure track)
- Teach courses in the MAC program
- Engage in professional development
- Serve as faculty advisor to assigned students
- Maintain strong professional counseling identity
- Other duties as assigned
