  • Assist with the daily operations of the permit office to include opening and closing procedures of the permit office.
  • Ensure recreation area users and lake-goers are properly informed and checked-in daily.
  • Keep and file records which include annual permit applications, monthly metrics, daily financial reports, etc.
  • Create informational flyers to provide the public updates on upcoming events, environmental issues, warnings/bans in effect, etc.
  • Take inventory of the permit office and notify Recreation Area Manager when supplies/materials are needed.
  • Facilitate events such as fishing, skiing or wakeboarding tournaments.
  • Create promotional and marketing material to promote the Sam Wahl Recreation Area as well as Lake Alan Henry.
  • Assist Recreation Area Manager in other duties as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsCompletion of a high school diploma or any combination of education and experience that provides the following:Additional Qualifications:
  • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • This is a year-round position. Must be able to work some weekends. Minimum 15 hours per week required.
Knowledge and AbilitiesKnowledge of:
  • Office practices and procedures, cash handling and reporting, data entry, filing, answering phones, and assisting customers;
Ability to:
  • Develop, promote and implement recreational programs, activities, and special events;
  • Assist the public in completing reservations, registering for programs, and answering questions about upcoming events.
  • Design and produce publicity brochures, flyers, calendars and other promotional or informative documents;
  • Direct or teach various classes and other projects at the center;
  • Accurately collect and account for revenues from donations, rent, class fees, and concession sales;
  • Maintain, organize, and inventory recreational equipment and other supplies;
  • Maintain records and prepare pertinent reports;
  • Work independently in the absence of specific instructions;
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 30 pounds;
  • Push and pull objects in order to set up tables and displays;
  • Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex at the knees in order to retrieve objects from the safe;
  • Place arms above, at or below shoulder height.
Part-time employees who have at least six (6) months continuous employment may be paid for all holidays except the Veterans Day floating holiday. Part-time employees are not eligible for the Veteran’s Day floating holiday because City offices are not closed on that day. The number of hours granted these employees as holiday pay is based on the average number of hours normally worked in a day.The City designates the eleven (11) following dates as holidays to be observed with pay:New Year’s Day – January 1
